In the old quarters of Luz Saint Sauveur, Bernadette welcomes you to her gîte, Le Piolet, a comfortable refuge with a "Mountain" atmosphere for hill walkers looking for a resting place. Everyone will find a warm and friendly welcome in this village house with it's souvenirs of not so long ago... "Saoumette, Bargas, Arastet..." to remind you that the mountains were the territory of shepherds before the arrival of hikers.

You can enjoy the local cuisine based on fresh produce next to the fireplace : garbure soup, stews, meat ragouts and homemade desserts.

Description of gîte : 29 people  House with three floors, On the groundfloor, kitchen and dining room decorated with whitewashed walls. On the 1st floor, two dormitories with private sanitary facilities (showers and wc). On the 2nd floor two dormitories. Shared sanitary facilities (showers and wc). Possibility of independant management outside holiday season. Sheets and blankets supplied. Sleeping bags obligatory.

To visit : Before your hike, visit the centre of Luz with it's "Templiers" church surrounded by a fortified wall, the Sainte-Marie Chateau and it's two towers, the Solférino chapel and the Spa quarters of Saint-Sauveur with it's treatment centre... In the winter, the ski resorts of Luz-Ardiden, Gavarnie or Tourmalet for alpine and cross country skiing or hill walking or snowshoeing... Visit the famous cirques de Gavarnie, Estaubé or Troumouse, the Pyrenean National park... To be consummated without moderation all the leisure activities such as paragliding, canyonning, mountainbiking, bungee jumping, fishing...
